Trivandrum: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) Kerala Circle has launched a slew of promotional schemes including few Kerala specific plans for its customers in the State. This was announced by L Anantharam ITS, CGM, Kerala while addressing a press conference here today.
100% wavier of installation charges for new landline and broadband customers in Kerala circle up to January 31, 2016; new BSNL Landline Plus 375 tariff plan; introduction of new unlimited broadband plans for new Broadband customers; and free modem offer are some of the promotional schemes announced today. Few of the new unlimited BB plans are available only in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kozhikode and Kannur SSAs on a promotional basis for period of 90 days.
“From today (January 16), BSNL is offering massive reduction in per minute and per second call rate to existing prepaid mobile customers. Earlier BSNL reduced call rate up to 80% for its new / Mobile Number Portability (MNP) prepaid customers only and now the same as been extended for existing prepaid customers also by using certain Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs). BSNL tariffs are most competitive and only BSNL is providing free national roaming. Two new STVs have also been introduced as per industry trends”, said Anantharam while talking about the schemes in the mobile segment.
According to the CGM, BSNL Kerala is the best performer in the country among all circles and earns the highest revenue. The circle has made Rs. 2,154.97 crores in revenue up to December 2015. The target is Rs. 3,000 crores revenue with a profit of Rs. 600 crores in this financial year.
BSNL has 22.64 lakhs landline, 6.5 lakhs broadband, 68.53 lakh prepaid and 2.33 lakhs post paid customers in Kerala. The circle registered a net gain of 7.2 lakhs MNP customers till December 2015.
BSNL is offering full talk time for top-ups of denominations 150, 250 and 550 till February 25, 2016. During this period, 30% extra talk value is being offered on higher top-ups. Wi-Fi hotspots have been introduced at 19 locations in Kerala.
